I am researching the history of the Miller Cine Company, Ltd who were based at 106, Barton Street, Gloucester, from approx. 1935 to 1960. My understanding is that their workshop was actually in W.J.B. Hawes builders yard (perhaps to the rear) of that address. Although Miller was a very small company, they competed with the ‘big names’ quite successfully over that period, which was quite an achievement.
Any information about the Miller company, Hawes the builders, or the immediate area where they were located would be very much appreciated.

In 1970 I worked in the work shop that was Miller Cine Cameras. All of the machinery was still there; the work shop was in Halls’ Keck yard. If you send me your contact details i.e. phone number I can describe what it looked like.
